Azerbaijan, Qatar agree to cooperate in ICT
Azerbaijan and Qatar signed a memorandum on cooperation in the field of information and communication technologies, a source on the telecommunications market of Azerbaijan told.
The memorandum was signed Dec. 8 as part of the World Exhibition and Conference "ITU Telecom World-2014" held in Doha (Qatar), December 7-10.

The document was signed by Azerbaijani Minister of Communications and High Technologies Ali Abbasov and Minister of Information and Communication Technologies of Qatar Hessa Al Jaber.

The memorandum envisages the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Qatar in the fields of telecommunication, support for IT-entrepreneurship (start-up projects). Moreover, nanotechnology is considered as one of the priorities of cooperation between the two countries.

A one-day summit of leaders dedicated to the problems of the future, which was held under the guidance of renowned futurologists, opened "ITU Telecom World-2014" exhibition-conference.

"ITU Telecom World-2014" gathered the industry leaders, who will examine three main scenarios, namely the disruption of the activity, partnership between industries and intellectual future.

The technologies and investment opportunities of its participants were presented in national and thematic pavilions of the exhibition, as well as on industrial stands.

The main objectives of the work of Azerbaijan’s national pavilion are to inform the participants and visitors about Azerbaijan’s economy, to present the latest technological solutions in the telecommunications and high-technologies.
