Security measures intensified in Turkey
The wounded Syrians, who are taken to Hatay province for treatment, undergo the medical examination, carried out by staff in overalls to avoid the risk of infection. A special section has been allocated at the hospital for wounded Syrians, where they are held in quarantine.
The Syrian government announced on March 19 that the opposition has used chemical weapons in the province of Aleppo. The opposition, in turn, argues that government forces used it in Homs in December last year. Syrian authorities have refused to let the mission of UN experts on chemical weapons enter the country. The investigation of both incidents has not yet begun.
The conflict in Syria continues since March 2011 and since then, according to the UN, more than 70,000 people died.
