Pilot, Passenger killed in light plane crash in West England
A pilot and a passenger died in a small plane crash in the western English county of Shropshire on the border with Wales, local police said in a statement Monday.
The plane fell on a field in the market town of Shifnal at 15:59 GMT, the statement added. Both the pilot and passenger were pronounced deceased at the scene.

"This is a very sad incident in which two people have tragically lost their lives, we are making sure specially trained officers are making contact with their next of kin and giving them all the support they need," West Mercia Police Superintendent Kevin Purcell said.

Police, fire, ambulance and rescue services have been dispatched, while the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AIIB) was said to have been informed and were to deploy a team of investigators.
