`The Metsamor NPP which was established in 1976 and expired causes a strict danger for the region. If any accident happens at the plant, it will be resulted in the disaster in the region`, Telman Zeynalov, head of the National Ecological Forecasting Center said.

T.Zeynalov called all conference participants to prevent the upcoming disaster and join efforts for the closure of the Metsamor NPP in order to avoid next Fukushima and Chernobyl disasters.
`The Metsamor NPP which expired remains hazardous for the regional security`, professor of the Institute of Radiation Problems of ANAS Rauf Serdarli said.
`Old technological equipment is being used in the NPP. The safety system of the NPP can stop functioning at any time. Furthermore, it can lead to a very dangerous disaster for the region`, he added.
`The Fukushima and Chernbyl disasters proved that no one is insured from atomic disaster. In this manner, there are several aspects to disaster risk in the Metsamor NPP`, he highlighted the importance of the closure of the NPP.

`The Metsamor poses the greatest hazards to the regional security. The massacre acts of the Metsamor NPP against Azerbaijani civilians and its operation under the guidance of the crimianl government who committed the Khojaly Genocide prove the seriousness of the danger`, Head of Israel`s International Projects for the Society NGO Arye Gut stated.
`Moroever, the NPP causes danger for the Middle east. It is possible to say that the Metsamor NPP poses the greatest threat to the nuclear security. Today, the nuclear security is of great importance in the world. If we consider that the Metsamor NPP is in terrorist government`s power, we should immediately think of it`, he noted.
The representatives of the other countries made statements on the dangers of the Metsamor NPP for the nuclear security of the region and the world. Moreover, they highlighted the importance of the immediate action to address the threat.
The conference participants signed the decree on the establishment of the NGOs` international coalition on the closure of the Metsamor at the end of the conference.
`The Metsamor issue should be added to the agenda of the Congress of World Azerbaijanis to be held in Baku, on June 3- 4`, International Centre for Diaspora (IDC) of Azerbaijan Ismail Agayev suggested.
Moreover, he made a suggestion on the holding the next congress in Igdir, Turkey or in Georgia.

The coalition conference on `Stop-Metsamor`will be held on June 2, 2016, at 11.00 with the participation of the NGOs of Turkey, Israil, Ukraine, Iran, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan, AzVision.az reports.
The conference will cover the discussions on the statements of the local and international experts related to the dangers of the Metsamor NPP which was establsihed in 1976 and expired.
The coalition will be established and will be adressed to the international community to achieve the closure of the NPP at the end of the meeting.
