After breaking up with his girlfriend Nina, who he apparently dated for two years, the man decided to press charges against her. It remains unclear if he was motivated by revenge or sheer stinginess.
Local media outlets report that the spurned lover had in fact meticulously collected the receipts from every date with his ex-girlfriend, and is now suing her for "improperly profiting", seeking to force her to pay him back approximately $600 that he spent on her during their affair.
Despite losing in court, he’s already filed an appeal in a less-than-valiant attempt to get back his money.
This story sounds so outlandish that it may well be an elaborate hoax, as Sputnik is unable to independently verify it. However, perhaps it may serve as a reminder that even too frugal isn’t always a good idea.
