Putin awards Ban Ki-Moon with order of friendship - Decree
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday signed a decree to award UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon with the Order of Friendship, AzVision.az reports citing SputnikNews.
On January 1, 2007, Ban Ki-moon took office and became the eighth secretary-general of the United Nations. In June 2011, Ban was reelected and will continue to serve as the UN chief until December 31, 2016.

"To award Ban Ki-moon, the United Nations Secretary-General, a national of the Republic of Korea, with the Order of Friendship for his special role in strengthening peace, friendship, cooperation and mutual understanding between nations," the decree, published on the official Russian internet portal for legal information, read.
