President Nazarbayev added that the Kazakh authorities will take the most stringent measures to suppress extremists and terrorists.
"The criminals, who carried out a series of attacks in the city of Aktobe in western Kazakhstan, received instructions from abroad," he said.
"According to the available information, the terrorist act was organized by followers of radical pseudo-religious currents, who received instructions from abroad," added Nazarbayev.
A group of suspected Islamist militants attacked two gun shops and a national guard base in Kazakhstan`s western city of Aktobe June 5. Six people were killed and at least nine injured as a result of the attacks in the city.
