UN High Commissioner urges not to forget about problems of IDPs in South Caucasus
We have learned about the violations of international humanitarian law that were revealed during the military clashes occurred in April this year in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone, said the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Zeid Ra`ad Al Hussein, speaking at the opening of the Human Rights Council`s 32nd session in Geneva.

The UN High Commissioner urged not to forget about the problems of the internally displaced persons in the South Caucasus, also offering assistance for gathering objective information on the human rights problems in the areas where clashes occur.

Zeid Ra`ad Al Hussein also welcomed the recent release of civil society representatives and journalists in Azerbaijan. He urged the Azerbaijani government to take further steps aimed at expanding the space for civil society and ensuring the freedom of expression.

The High Commissioner expressed readiness for dialogue with the Azerbaijani government for resolution of such issues.
