Azerbaijan will grant military service deferment to bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree students, who are Azerbaijani citizens receiving education in the country and abroad.
It is reflected in the amendments to the law “On military duty and military service” adopted during the Azerbaijani parliament’s extraordinary session on June 14.
The right to deferment from military service before graduation has been provided by receiving full-time education in bachelor’s degree, residency (internship) at Azerbaijani universities and receiving full-time education in bachelor’s degree, residency (internship) and those receiving higher basic medical education at the foreign universities approved by the Education Ministry.
According to the amendment, military deferment will be granted to those studying full-time master`s and doctoral degree programs in Azerbaijani and foreign universities as well from now on.
