"South" gas corridor paves the way for Europe`s energy security
High-level meeting entitled "South" Corridor - the opening of Europe`s energy security" was held in Brussels. The event discussed infrastructure project to carry the Caspian gas to Europe.
Vice-President of European Commission on energy issues Maroš Ševčovič, other officials, representatives of Azerbaijan State Oil Company (SOCAR), diplomats attended the meeting.

Azerbaijan`s ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg, the head of the Azerbaijan mission to the EU, Fuad Isgandarov spoke of the important commitments of Azerbaijan for the implementation of "South" gas corridor, expressed hope on establishment of a political dialogue between the EU and Azerbaijan.

Italy`s Deputy Minister of Economic Development Claudio De Vincenti said "South" gas corridor is a good example of global energy management.

Maroš Ševčovič recalling his visit to Baku stressed the necessity of the creation of energy union.

SOCAR’s Vice President for Investment and Marketing Elshad Nasirov reminded Azerbaijan’s contributions to ensuring Europe`s energy security. "South" Gas Corridor is a project that covers many areas of economic development, also Azerbaijan-EU partnership and it can solve the problems of energy supply in different regions.

At the event Joe Murphy, Southern Corridor Vice President of BP and TAP`s managing director, Kjetil Tungland shared their views on the subject.
