International Economic Forum kicks off in St. Petersburg
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) has kicked off. The motto for SPIEF 2016 is
The three-day forum is being attended by representatives of companies from over 100 countries, state figures, heads of international organizations.

The first Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Sergei Prikhodko opened the forum. He said the SPIEF has turned into the most famous economic square of the world: “Participants of this forum today are those intending to cooperate with and standing by Russia”.

The forum is also attended by Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon, the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, Ex-president of France Nicolas Sarkozy and etc.

Azerbaijani delegation, which includes economic minister Shahin Mustafayev, chairman of Chamber of Account Vugar Gulmammadov, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev, is also attending the forum.

The SPIEF is an annual Russian business event for the economic sector, which has been held in St. Petersburg since 1997, and under the auspices of the Russian President since 2005.
