Madat Guliyev: All reports about Leyla Yunus are false
Director of the Institute for Peace and Democracy Leyla Yunus is kept in the detention facility on a common basis. Some media outlets are disseminating false and ridiculous reports that she is left foodless. All these are false.

Chief of Justice Ministry`s Penitentiary Service, Lieutenant General Madat Guliyev said it while commenting on the reports about concern over Leyla Yunus’s detention conditions and pressure against her, AzVision.az reports.

He said that a number of NGO representatives were interested in Yunus’s health: “NGO representatives visited the detention facility where Leyla Yunus is kept. They saw that she has no health problems. Leyla Yunus even insulted and was rude to doctors.”

Guliyev said that imprisoned journalist Khadija Ismayilova is also kept on the same basis.

“She also said that the detention conditions are normal. There is no pressure against her. Some foreign NGO representatives asked me how happens that persons allegedly involved in politics are arrested one after another. It is very easy to answer. The criminal case has been launched on Leyla Yunus regarding Rauf Mirgadirov`s visit to Armenia, all of them were named in the criminal case. Of course, all of them must be detained,” he added.
