President Aliyev offers condolences to Vladimir Putin
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has extended condolences to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin over the death of numerous children in Karelia region, AzVision.az reports.
The letter reads:

`I was deeply saddened by the news of the death of numerous children as a result of the storm on Lake Syamozero in Karelia region,” President Aliyev said in his condolence message.

On my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan, I express my deepest condolences to you, families and relatives of the dead and all the Russian people.`

Thirteen children on a summer camp drowned when their boats capsized during a storm on Lake Syamozero in Karelia on Saturday. A search for another child is underway. Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case into the death of children.
