`Azerbaijan-US co-op covers a vast number of areas`
Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev on Thursday received the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Bridget Brink.

Highlighting the successful development of Azerbaijan-US relations, the head of state said the commitment to strengthening the partnership between the two countries was reaffirmed during the fruitful and important discussions he held with US Vice President Joe Biden, Secretary of State John Kerry and Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker during his recent visit to the US.

Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude to US President Barack Obama for a letter addressed to the participants of the 23rd International Caspian Oil and Gas 2016 Exhibition and Conference held in Baku, as well as his positive opinions about the true nature of friendly relations and cooperation between Baku and Washington.

The president recalled Brink’s visit to Azerbaijan last year, noting the importance of visit in terms of the positive dynamics in the development of bilateral relations.

President Aliyev said the agenda of Azerbaijan-US cooperation covers a vast number of areas and that the countries cooperate in the fields of security, energy, regional development, etc.

Azerbaijan-US relations are at a very high level, the president said, adding that Brink’s visit will contribute to the successful development of bilateral relations.

Brink, in turn, said she is pleased to be again in Azerbaijan as part of her visit to the region, emphasizing that the visit aims to further strengthen partnership relations in all areas.

She promised not to spare any efforts to bring bilateral cooperation to a higher level.
