`Karabakh conflict has potential for escalation` - OSCE Chairperson-in-Office
Karabakh conflict has potential for escalation, Foreign Minister of Germany, OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Frank-Walter Steinmeier said.
“In the year of the German presidency of the OSCE, we have a responsibility to extinguish the danger as much as possible through consolidation of truce, building confidence and by the imminent start of negotiations,” Steinmeier told reporters in Berlin before his visit to South Caucasus.

According to him, the same refers to the territorial conflicts in Georgia.

“By opening the session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Tbilisi, we signaled the strengthening of parliamentarism in the OSCE,” he added.

During the regional visit to South Caucasus, Steinmeier is expected to hold talks with the representatives of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia.
