He further noted that last year alone, the Azerbaijani fruit and vegetable exports increased three times.
“That is, the cooperation grew so much that it is time to talk about mutual investments,” the minister added.
He noted that the two countries need to enhance cooperation at the level of financial institutions.
“Such collaboration will bring our economic ties to a new level. We invite Azerbaijani companies to the Polish stock exchange, which is the largest in Eastern Europe. It is also necessary to consider the possibility of mutual business services, including in the finance and insurance,” Piechocinski said.
He noted that Azerbaijan and Poland can already work together on third markets.
“It is necessary to seize the opportunity to strengthen our joint work and create a climate for further expansion of relations,” he noted. “I can say that Poland is a reliable political, geopolitical and economic partner of Azerbaijan.”
The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Poland stood at nearly 72.4 million AZN in 11 months of 2014, according to Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee.
Meanwhile, some $56.95 million accounted for the imports from Poland, and some $15.48 million - for exports.
The trade turnover compared to the same period of last year increased by more than 48 percent.
