Ali Hasanov meets newly appointed ambassador of Norway in Azerbaijan
Deputy Prime Minister of the Azerbaijan Republic Ali Hasanov met the newly appointed ambassador of Norway in Azerbaijan, AzVision.az reports.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Azerbaijan Republic, the Chairman of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs Ali Hasanov met the newly appointed ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway in Azerbaijan Bord Ivar Svendsen.

At the meeting, Ali Hasanov congratulated the Ambassador, expressed confidence that this appointment represents great importance for development of relations between Azerbaijan and Norway, for the sake of interests of both states and peoples.

Considering appointment of the Ambassador to the country, Deputy Prime Minister in detail informed him on the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and historical roots of this problem as a result of which over 1 million 200 thousand of Azerbaijanis live more than 22 years as refugees and displaced persons, and also the measures taken by the Azerbaijani state on settlement of the conflict.

Considering desire of the Norwegian diplomat to see the real plight of refugees and IDPs on places, the Deputy Prime Minister provided detailed information on the measures taken by the Azerbaijani state in this field.

Expressing gratitude for detailed information, the Norwegian diplomat reported that for closer acquaintance with real position of refugees and displaced persons in the country he will visit areas of their placement. The Ambassador expressed satisfaction with all-round development of Azerbaijan, and assured that during his mission he will promote further expansion of cooperation.

Speaking about economic relations between the two countries, the Ambassador hoped that these relations will develop even more in the years ahead.
