Georgia, UK discuss military cooperation
The head of the general staff of the Georgian Armed Forces Major-General Vakhtang Kapanadze paid an official visit to the UK, the Georgian defense ministry said Dec.15.
It is reported that a meeting with the Secretary of State of Great Britain in the field of defense Michael Fallon took place during the visit.

The parties discussed the implemented and ongoing reforms and prospects in the defense ministry of Georgia of the further deepening of cooperation in the defense sector, said the ministry. Major-General thanked Fallon for his support of Georgia`s integration into Euro-Atlantic structures, according to the ministry.

It is reported that he expressed hope that the cooperation in the defense sector would deepen even more. During the meeting, attention was paid to the importance of joint exercises of Georgian and British troops, the ministry said.

Vakhtang Kapanadze visited the military academy, where he attended the official ceremony marking the completion of the course of the Georgian officer, according to the ministry. It is reported that the event was also attended by German Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen and the Minister of Defence of Albania Mimi Kodheli.
