President Aliyev made the remarks at the fifth meeting of the Council of Presidents in Baku July 14.
He noted that discussions are underway on a number of issues of mutual interest.
Poroshenko, for his part, said that there is good potential for the development of cooperation between the two countries.
“There is great potential in the relationship between our peoples. I can say that there are warm and friendly relations between the two countries’ presidents. We are in active negotiations,” he said.
Poroshenko added that all the agreements signed between the two countries are being implemented decisively.
