Azerbaijan completes investigation of over 100 criminal cases on corruption
Investigation of more than 100 criminal cases on corruption-related facts has been completed and sent to courts for consideration in Azerbaijan since the beginning of 2016, Kamran Aliyev, chief of Anti-Corruption Department under Prosecutor General told reporters on Friday.
Of them, 37 criminal cases had been initiated over corruption facts recorded in the banking sector; 16 criminal cases on private sector, 13 criminal cases on construction sector, 11 cases on trade sector, 8 cases on local executive authorities, 5 cases on municipalities, 4 cases on healthcare sector, 3 cases on Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population, 3 cases on education sector, 3 cases on energy sector, 3 cases on transportation sector and 1 case on internal affairs agencies.

Azerbaijan’s law enforcement bodies have put 41 officials on wanted list in the first half of 2016.

12 of them were put on internal wanted list, while 29 were declared internationally wanted, Kamran Aliyev said.

Nine wanted persons have been detained by law-enforcement bodies since the beginning of 2016.
