SSAC to appeal to Tariff Council in connection with paid exams
Azerbaijan’s State Students Admission Commission (SSAC) will appeal to the Tariff Council in connection with paid exams, Maleyka Abbaszade, chairperson of the Board of Directors of the State Exam Center, told reporters on Friday.
She noted that the results of studies conducted by SSAC and relevant proposals will be submitted to the Tariff Council.

“A final decision to be passed by the Tariff Council doesn’t depend on us,” said the chairperson.

“Currently, SSAC employees are receiving the same salaries as civil servants. However, after the State Exam Center is registered, none of the workers and specialists will receive the wage,” Abbaszade said.

Paid exams will not have a negative impact on the number of applicants, said the chairperson, adding that based on the principle of social justice, fee for participation in the exam will be different for certain categories of the population.

She said that the SSAC will be funded by the state by the end of 2016. “However, from 1 January 2017 on, the funding of the SSAC will be suspended. One million manats will be allocated for the activities of the State Exam Center,” Abbaszade added.
