Kerry hopes constitutional process followed after coup
US Secretary of State John Kerry has said the United States "stands squarely" for democratic leadership in Turkey and is willing to assist in legitimate legislative efforts after an attempted coup.
Turkey has said that 2,839 members of the army have been detained, including high ranking officers, following the coup attempt by a faction of the military.

Mr Kerry spoke of his hopes that constitutional process will be followed in the country in respect to dealing with those involved.

He also said all US embassy personnel have been accounted for in Turkey.
