Turkey fires 30 governors
Turkey fired 30 governors and more than 300 representatives of local self-government bodies over the recent military coup attempt, Azvision.az reports citing the Turkish Media.
In addition, 8,777 employees of the Interior Ministry, the gendarmerie and the Coast Guard have also been dismissed.

Searches are underway in the offices of the earlier dismissed judges and prosecutors.

On July 15 evening, Turkish authorities said a military coup attempt took place in the country.

Meanwhile, a group of servicemen announced about transition of power to them.

However, the rebelling servicemen started to surrender July 16 and Turkish authorities said the coup attempt failed.

According to the latest reports, 265 people have been killed as a result of the coup attempt.
