UPDATE: Police believe that there are as many as three gunmen and countered the report that one of the attackers had taken his life saying that all potential suspects remain at large. Despite the update by police, conflicting reports continue to surface citing security officials.
Police caution that there is an active shooter situation in Munich and the city remains in a state of emergency as officials search the city for suspected terrorists who may have been involved in the fatal ambush of unsuspecting bystanders.
German police refused to confirm the initial report that one of the gunmen has shot himself. They remain on a citywide hunt for suspected terrorists after witnesses on the scene report seeing at least three gunmen with long rifles.
A spokesperson for the Munich Police said that the gunmen are still on the run, but refused to deny that one of the gunmen may have in fact taken his own life. The spokesman also said that there remains an "uncertain number" of dead and wounded people from the shooting.
Germany`s federal police anti-terrorist units have been deployed to Munich to aide in the terrorist man hunt.
