The United Nations strongly condemns the deadly Munich shooting that took the lives of at least eight people on Friday, Deputy Spokesman for the UN secretary-general Farhan Haq said.

"We condemn the killings of innocent civilians," Haq told RIA Novosti when asked to comment on the Munich shooting.

On Friday, at least eight people were killed and at least ten others were injured in a shooting at the Olympia shopping center in the German city of Munich, according to city police.

Another body was found not far from the site of the shooting and police are investigating whether it could be that of one of the attackers.

The attackers are still at large and the motive of the shooting is unclear.
