Germany may toughen gun control laws following Munich massacre
The Munich shooting may prompt Berlin to reconsider the country`s gun control laws, Germany`s interior minister said.
The German government may consider amending the gun control laws once an investigation into how the Munich shooter got access to the gun is completed, the country`s Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said Sunday.

"Then [after the investigation] we have to examine very carefully if and where there is a need for additional legal actions," de Maiziere told Bild am Sonntag newspaper.

Germany’s Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel said earlier in the day Germany must restrict access to deadly weapons.

On Friday, an 18-year-old German-Iranian man opened fire in a crowded Munich shopping mall and a nearby McDonald`s restaurant, killing nine people and wounding 27 others before committing suicide.
