Russia, Turkey agree to hold consultations on visa abolition
Russia and Turkey have agreed to hold the consultations at the level of the representatives of the foreign ministries and the law enforcement agencies regarding the visa abolition for Turkey, Arkady Dvorkovich, Russian deputy prime minister, told reporters, RIA Novosti agency reported July 26.
"When the appropriate agencies reach mutual understanding on preventing the individuals, involved in extremism, terrorism, to penetrate into the territory of Russia, then it will be possible to make a decision to abolish the visa restrictions," Dvorkovich added.

The relations between Russia and Turkey deteriorated after the Su-24 bomber incident in 2015.

On June 27, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sent a letter of condolences to Putin over the death of Russian Su-24 pilot and expressed regret over the incident.

Earlier, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim, commenting on the improvement of relations between Turkey and Russia, thanked Azerbaijan for its contribution to normalization of the relations.
