53% of Scottish people against leaving United Kingdom
Over 50 percent of Scottish voters are currently against independence, a new YouGov poll revealed, showing little change in opinion since before the Brexit vote.
According to the survey, 53 percent of Scots want to remain part of the United Kingdom, while 47 percent favour independence.

The poll also showed that only 37 percent of Scottish voters would like for Scotland to be part of the European Union as an independent state.

The Scottish government has been seeking ways to secure its place in the European Union after the June 23 referendum, in which Scotland was outvoted and forced, as part of the United Kingdom, to leave the bloc, despite 62 percent of its population backing continued EU membership.
