Turkey-EU cooperation in energy sector unaffected by coup attempt
Cooperation between Brussels and Ankara remained unaffected by the attempted coup in Turkey, EU Climate Action and Energy Commissioner Miguel Arias Canete said on Sunday.
On July 15, a faction of the Turkish armed forces attempted a coup which was thwarted the next day.

According to Canete, Turkish Energy Minister Berat Albayrak assured him of Ankara`s commitment to realize the Southern Gas Corridor project

"We are positive that this will continue to be the case, since the Southern Gas Corridor is mutually beneficial," Canete said, as quoted by the Anadolu news agency.

The Southern Gas Corridor project is due to supply the European Union with Azerbaijani gas piped through Georgia and Turkey.
