The Executive Body and, later, the Council, of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), have completed their meetings.
Following the meetings, RPA Spokesman Eduard Sharmazanov announced new changes in Armenia’s government.

The meetings unanimously approved structural changes in Armenia’s government and delegating duties to the head of the government staff.

“We have unanimously decided to appoint Minister of Finance Vache Gabrielyan to the post. The renowned athlete Yuri Vardanyan has been nominated to the post of minister of sport and youth affairs,” Sharmazanov said.

The financial expert David Sargsyan has been nominated to the post of minister of finance. Vahram Avetisyan has been nominated to the post of minister of economy.

All the other acting ministers will be re-appointed.

Ex-minister of economy Tigran Davtyan will be appointed head of Armenia’s delegation to the World Trade Organization.

So the composition of Armenia’s government is as follows:

Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Armen Asatryan

Minister of Nature Protection Aram Harutyunyan

Minister of Economy Vahram Avetisyan

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan

Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan

Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan

Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan

Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Yuri Vardanyan

Minister of Finance David Sargsyan

Under the coalition agreement, the posts of ministers of emergency situations, agriculture and urban development belong to the Rule of Law party. The party is to decide on the candidates.
