The State Committee for Refugees and IDPs told that the deputy prime minister highly appreciated the humanitarian programs carried out by the International Committee of the Red Cross for the persons expelled from their native lands as a result of the conflict. He emphasized that the Azerbaijani president has created all conditions for all international organizations in the country for functioning freely and transparently.
Elena Ajmone Sessera said that they worked very hard during the incidents that took place in April on the contact line.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group that has been created for finding peaceful settlement to the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict are dealing with this issue, but their activities haven’t yielded result yet.
Sessera said that the use of artillery during the April clashes caused serious damage to the civilians.
They also discussed the state of Dilgam Asgarov and Shahbaz Guliyev, who were taken hostage by Armenian armed units while going to visit the graves of their parents in Kalbajar and then sentenced by the “court” of the separatist regime in occupied Nagorno-Karabakh.
Hasanov added that this issue has been under control of president Ilham Aliyev from the first day: “Under the instruction of the president, I discussed the release of the two hostages with President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Geneva. I asked the ICRC president to help Dilgam Asgarov and Shahbaz Guliyev, taken hostages by the Armenians, to directly contact with their families via modern communication facilities. He promised to deal with this issue. However, there is no result yet,” he said.
