The Defence Ministry of Georgia has apologized to the public for a previously made statement.
Georgia’s deputy defense minister, Levan Girsiashvili, said Dec. 22 on air of the Imedi TV channel that the statement on the death of the Georgian serviceman Alexander Grigolashvili in Ukraine was a mistake, for which the ministry brings its apologies.

In the mentioned statement, the Defense Ministry held the former authorities of the country responsible for what happened.

“The scandalous statement made by the Defence Ministry was a mistake, although no one is immune from making mistakes. We see and recognize this error. The Defence Ministry brings its apologies for the made statement,” Girsiashvili said.
