And the celebration of the Azerbaijani people of the birthday of their national leader can only be considered as a token of faithfulness, and as confirmation that the efforts he exerted during one of the most important stages in building the modern Azerbaijan are still yielding fruits to date.”
In the same connection, he underlined that the independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan from the Soviet Union in the beginning of the nineties was a historical, national event for the Azerbaijani people who love freedom and defend it vigorously. He also highlighted the contribution of the Azerbaijani scholars, poets, philosophers and artists to the enrichment of the Islamic civilization, whose radiance permeated not only in the Islamic world but also in the West, which used it as a basis for its advancement.
Likewise, he emphasized that the Azerbaijani culture contributed to the preservation of the identity of the Azerbaijani people, and became a source of enlightenment and power, and a spring of resistance and pride.
Equally, he underscored that history is a witness to the fact that President Heydar Aliyev was at the vanguard of freedom heroes who brought independence to the Republic of Azerbaijan. He also highlighted that the late president refused to give in to the reality that was imposed on his people by Moscow, and courageously fought all kinds of oppression and subjugation exercised by tyrant rulers under the Soviet Union. “Indeed, he was a hero and a national leader that could achieve national objectives and rescue his country from the shackles of subordination and dependency,” Dr Altwaijri added, AzerTAc reports.
