EBRD names new head of Baku office
Ivana Duarte has been appointed the new head of Baku office of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Azerbaijani government told on Aug. 19.
Duarte joined the EBRD in April 2004. Her current position is a senior banker within the Transport Team overseeing activity in countries of Central Europe, Turkey, Jordan and Morocco.

As senior banker, Duarte has led on a number of complex transport projects in various countries of operations of the EBRD, including Albania, Kazakhstan, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Russia, Turkey, Morocco and Tajikistan.

She will take the office Oct. 15. Up to that time, Neil McKain, who has been appointed ERBD director for Central Asia, will perform the duties of the Baku office head.

McKain, who joined the EBRD in 1999, has headed the Baku office since 2011.

The EBRD has allocated 2.5 billion euros for 162 projects in Azerbaijan since the start of cooperation.
