Explosion hits eastern Turkey, casualties reported
Explosion occurred in the eastern Turkish province of Van, one person was killed and nine people were injured, including five servicemen, TRT Haber news channel reported Aug. 19.
A homemade mine with a remote control was detonated when an armored personnel carrier with servicemen was passing by. The injured were taken to hospitals of Van province and Ozalp district.

An operation against the militants began in the area of the accident.
