Bus plunges into irrigation canal killing eight in South India
A passenger bus fell into a canal in southern India`s Telangana state early Monday, killing eight people and wounding 18 others, local media reported.
The bus carrying 30 passengers was travelling from Hyderabad to Kakinada when it hit the railing and nose-dived into an irrigation canal, the Hindu newspaper cited its sources as saying.

Local fishermen alerted the police who rushed the injured to the hospital and then used a crane to lift the bus from the canal, the outlet said.

Fears are that some passengers were trapped inside the submerged vehicle and the death toll could rise, according to the paper.
