She said Azerbaijan is pursuing a successful foreign policy, despite the frozen Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and uneasy neighbourhood with Russia and Iran.
“Thanks to President Aliyev’s wise policy Azerbaijan has become a trusted ally for Europe and NATO,” Goulet said.
Speaking about Azerbaijan’s commitment to democratic values, Goulet said Azerbaijan managed to maintain cultural respect and religious tolerance in a very difficult time.
“I hope Azerbaijan will continue to progress in this way to reach more democratic standards,” she said, adding that Azerbaijan has already achieved a lot for a country facing a war.
Goulet also underscored the economic progress achieved by Azerbaijan thanks to the President Ilham Aliyev’s policy.
She also highlighted the important role of Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva in the country’s success.
Goulet said Azerbaijan owes to the First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva for many of the country’s achievements.
