He noted that the elections were held at all polling stations in line with the requirements of the Electoral Code.
He also said that the voter turnout stood at about 39 percent.
“Some 1,876,014 people took part in the elections, which is a quite high rate. This is six to seven percent higher than in the previous municipal elections,” Panahov underscored.
He said that during the elections there were virtually no unpleasant cases related to the observers and the media.
Azerbaijan held municipal elections on Dec.23. The election was conducted in 118 constituencies.
The voting took place at 5,015 polling stations.
The municipal elections were not held in seven constituencies situated in the territories occupied by Armenia.
