Azerbaijani defense minister holds enlarged meeting
Azerbaijan’s Defense Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov on Tuesday chaired an enlarged meeting on discussion combat readiness in the country’s Armed Forces.

The meeting was attended by deputy defense ministers, commanders of military formations and corps, heads of main departments, departments and services of the ministry, chiefs of staff and other senior officers, the Defense Ministry told.

During the meeting deputy defense ministers and commanders of military formations presented reports on the state of combat readiness and disciple in the Armed Forces, the work done, problems and their solutions, etc.

Addressing the meeting, Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov spoke of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev’s attention and care to the Armed Forces, emphasizing the value given by the people and leadership to the Army.

The defense minister gave officials further instructions on strengthening the front line defense in areas liberated in the April clashes, equipping the military units with advanced weapons, ammunition, and armed vehicles, the combat readiness of the personnel, strengthening their psychological condition and discipline as well as bettering their social conditions.

In the end, proposals put forth at the board meeting were discussed and a draft decision was adopted.
