The new government should be formed after resignation of Prime Minister Karim Massimov from his post on Sept. 8.
The new government will be formed soon, the president said.
Nazarbayev also explained its decision to appoint Massimov as the head of the National Security Committee.
"First, it will strengthen security issues, a problem of terrorism exists now. Karim Massimov with his consent was transferred to this important post ... there is a need for him at this place. He has experience, knows the situation in the republic," Nazarbayev said.
