`Reforms should be conducted on introduction of compulsory medical insurance`
The State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance under the Cabinet of Ministers, with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Ali Ahmadov held discussions on September 8 around the issues on introduction of compulsory medical insurance.
The Cabinet of Ministers told APA that Director of the State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance Zaur Aliyev who gave detailed information about the work done during the last period, said that assessments are being carried out intensively on introduction of compulsory medical insurance and work is underway on developing necessary normative documents.

Zaur Aliyev said the works are underway for raising awareness about compulsory health insurance amongst people and medical staff, facilitating the use of new funding system. He added that places where pilot project will be applied were determined, relevant investigations were conducted, necessary statistical data were analyzed and gave information about analysis of financial resources and works carried out to establish the ICT infrastructure.

Ahmedov noted that provision of high-quality health services is one of basic principles of the state`s social policy and stressed the importance of conducting further serious reforms for application of compulsory health insurance.

Emphasizing the importance of targeted and more efficient spending of public funds allocated to this sphere, Ahmadov gave his instructions and recommendations on introduction of compulsory medical insurance.
