Car bomb attack in Turkey`s Van - UPDATING, VIDEO
At least 48 people were wounded in Sept. 12 car bomb attack in the Turkish eastern province of Van, Hurriyet newspaper cited the Van Governor’s Office as saying.
The explosion was caused by the detonation of a parked bomb-laden vehicle at around 11 a.m. near the Van Governor’s Office and the provincial headquarters of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) in the central Beşyol area, according to the governor’s office.

Among those injured were two police officers.

The explosion occurred in the center of Turkey`s Van province between the buildings of the governorship and representative office of the Justice and Development Party, the Anadolu Agency reported Sept.12.

Forty-eight people were injured in the car bomb explosion in the Turkish province of Van, the Dogan news agency reported citing a source in police Sept. 12.

Reportedly, two of the injured are police officers.

The injured have been taken to the hospital. The police have launched an operation to catch the terrorists.

The prosecutor’s office of Van has initiated a criminal case over the terrorist attack.

The blast damaged nearby buildings and shattered their windows. The blast left 27 people wounded but killed no one, NTV reported citing the province`s chief of the security department.
