Webcams to be installed at about 1,000 polling stations
Webcams will be installed in about 1,000 polling stations in all the119 constituencies in connection with the upcoming referendum on constitutional amendments in Azerbaijan, Natig Mammadov, deputy chairman of the country’s Central Election Commission (CEC), said on Wednesday.
The CEC deputy chairman said use of webcams is widespread in Azerbaijani election experience, noting that these webcams will leave no question about transparency.

“20 percent of the polling stations in Azerbaijan are equipped with webcams. This practice will be continued this year too. There will be webcams installed at about 1,000 polling stations for all the 119 constituencies. Webcams will be installed everywhere throughout the country, except for the occupied territories. So citizens will be able to watch the process,” he added.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed an order to hold a referendum on amending the country’s Constitution on September 26, 2016.
