Azerbaijan’s constitutional referendum wraps up
The referendum to make amendments to the Constitution of Azerbaijan has ended.
The voting kicked off at 8:00 am local time and wrapped up at 7:00 pm.

The voting took place at 125 polling stations for 125 constituencies. The number of voters in Azerbaijan stands at 5,267,111 people.

As many as 117 observers from 18 international organizations, including the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) – have been accredited by Azerbaijan’s CEC to observe the referendum.

The total number of the observers is around 53,000.

The referendum has been declared valid. According to Azerbaijan’s Election Code, if the voter turnout in the referendum on the issues specified in the second paragraph of Article 3 of the constitution and Article 153 is more than 25 percent, the referendum is considered valid.
