There has been a dramatic increase in the number of tourists visiting Azerbaijan over recent years, he noted.
“The state policy being pursued in this area is coming to fruition. Luckily, there are large numbers of tourists coming not only from Arab countries, but also Russia and Kazakhstan. The priority now is to achieve positive changes in services,” he said.
The minister added that international experience is being applied in developing a new draft law on tourism.
“The new draft law will be discussed in parliament. The adoption of this law will accelerate the development even further. We can now confidently say that tourism plays a special part in Azerbaijan’s new strategy,” Garayev said.
