BP decreases flaring in Azerbaijan
BP achieved a substantial reduction in the amount of flaring at its facilities in Azerbaijan from 413,120 tons in 2014 to 203,651 tons in 2015.
According to the BP Sustainability Report 2015, presented in Baku, the main factor contributing to the decrease was the completion of the West Chirag platform’s commissioning.

In 2015, BP consumed 957,000 tons of fuel gas, 83,300 tons of diesel and 10,167 megawatt hours of electricity as part of its activity in Azerbaijan, according to the report.

BP is the largest foreign investor in Azerbaijan`s oil and gas sector and the operator of the block of Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli offshore oil and gas fields, as well as Shah Deniz gas and condensate field.

BP is also a member of such pipeline projects as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and South Caucasus Gas Pipeline.
