The embassy informed that regional division is preferred in the practice of creating friendship groups at New Zealand parliament. In this regard, the creation of a friendship group with Azerbaijan can be regarded as an exceptional case.
An Azerbaijan-New Zealand Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group composed of 17 deputies is operating in the Azerbaijani parliament. The chairman of the group is MP Khanlar Fatiyev.
