Azerbaijan to discuss oil production freeze with OPEC
Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Natig Aliyev will take part in an informal meeting of the OPEC member states and non-members of the organization within the framework of 23rd World Energy Congress in Istanbul, Azerbaijan’s Energy Ministry told on Oct. 7.
The OPEC Secretary General Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo sent the invitation to Azerbaijan’s energy minister to participate in the meeting.

“The meeting will take place in an informal format with the aim of holding consultations regarding the oil production freeze among energy ministers of Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Gabon, UAE, Venezuela and Russia, as well as Brazil, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Mexico and Oman,” the ministry said. “The meeting will take place October 12.”

The 23rd World Energy Congress will be held in Istanbul October 9-13.
