According to him, effective use of energy plays an important role in reduction of demand for it: “At the same time, increasing energy resources also limits use of oil and gas. In order to ensure effective use of energy resources, state standards and norms should be prepared”.
Aliyev added that it’s also important to apply additional amounts to the tax on energy consumption as interest depending on more usage of energy: “As a result of these measures, taking into account the doubling of per head GDP to $13,000 by 2020, 99.9% of population will be supplied with energy and per head energy productin will increase up to 2,500 kWh in 2018”.

Energy effectiveness, development of alternative and renewable energy sources are actual recent years. EU-2020 strategy also shows that EU countries intend to save energy 20% by 2020, emission less CO2 and use 20% alternative and renewable energy resources, energy minister Natig Aliyev said in his article published in Respublika newspaper.
