Armenia less friendly to CIS countries, Russia - Study
The annual report of the Center for Integration Studies of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), called EDB Integration Barometer, says that Armenia fell by 13 percentage points to 72 percent in terms of friendliness towards the CIS region countries in 2016, Arka news agency reported Oct. 26.
“Armenia’s position fell to a minimum low in five years of observations. Evidently, this is associated with disappointment of Armenians with the position of the Eurasian Economic Union and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (Russia in the first place) on a new round of confrontation with Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh,” the study said.

“Apparently, dissatisfaction with Russia’s position concerning aggravation in the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as a significant increase in the prices for electricity supplied by Russian companies have played a role in this,” said the study.
